The Hunger Games - May the odds ever be in your favor

So. One of the greatest book series ever is being adapted to movie form.
Although I pretty much know that they'll simply ruin it (see Eragon, some Harry Potters, etc), I'm still super-excited about it!

The Hunger Games are televised events in a dystopian future, where a boy and a girl from each of the 12 Districts are chosen to participate in a fight to death once every year, while inclosed in an arena and trying to survive to the ambient itself, meanwhile. Stuck there with twenty-three other tributes, Katniss Everdeen has volunteered herself to take the place of her younger sister, Prim, as a participant in the Hunger Games.
First by herself, then with an ally, and after that with the boy that came with her, Katniss tries to survive, while pretending to be in love with Peeta Mellark, the other tribute from her district in order to get the audience's simpathy.

Clever and resourceful, the story is narrated by the heroine herself in a fast-paced, can't-put-the-book-down, have-to-know-what-happens-next kind of way.

In short, a very good read. Congratulations, Suzanne Collins!

XOXO
